Herdwick sheep are the hardy inhabitants of Cumbria’s highest and steepest fells, and an iconic symbol of the Lake District. They’re usually timid creatures – seeing how much greenery they can scoff before they run away. Their gentle, friendly faces are much-loved by locals and visitors alike.
Herdwick lambs are born with black wool which lightens as they age. This digital illustration celebrates the wonderful grey spectrum of Herdwick sheep.
